More than 10 Michaung people were killed and about 250,000 people were evacuated to relief camps in the days after severe cyclonic storm Michaung hit the coasts of Chennai at Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the wee hours of 3,4,and 5 th Monday December 2023 Michaung made its landfall with wind speeds of 110 km per hour,with Heavy Rain leaving behind a huge trail of destruction in the districts of Thiruvallur, sengalpattu, Ranipattai ,Kanjipuram and Chennai in Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in the Union territory of Puducherry. According to Chennai-based weather blogger Michaung has been the worst cyclone to hit Tamil Nadu since Vardah in 2016,and GASA and the worst to affect the CHENNAI since the cyclone in 1993.and 2015 Relief workers are trying hard to reach remote and inaccessible areas .
